Just weeks after announcing its entry into the vast Indian market, Loob Holding Sdn Bhd has unveiled plans to expand Tealive into Thailand, a country with a well-established tea culture. Over the next 10 years, the brand aims to open 80 outlets across the nation.
Founder and CEO Bryan Loo said Loob has appointed Restaurants Development Co. Ltd (RD), a leading local food and beverage player, as its Master Franchisee. RD currently operates more than 300 Kentucky Fried Chicken outlets in Thailand.
Notably, RD is a subsidiary of India’s Devyani International Limited (DIL), which is also the Master Franchisee for Tealive in India. This strategic collaboration with DIL and RD makes Thailand the tenth overseas market for Tealive, reinforcing its status as a leading regional lifestyle tea brand.
Loo expressed confidence that RD’s extensive network and industry expertise would provide a solid foundation for Tealive’s growth in Thailand.
“Tealive is more than just tea—we offer a lifestyle tea experience. In Thailand, we will complement the country’s rich tea culture with a diverse selection of handcrafted beverages, including coffee, premium chocolate, fruit smoothies, and our signature snacks,” he said.
“Our Thai partner already has an extensive presence across the country, and Tealive will leverage this from the outset. While store locations are still being finalised, our joint target is 80 outlets within the next decade.”
Echoing this optimism, RD CEO Andrew Norton stated: “We look forward to working closely with Loob to bring Tealive’s dynamic and contemporary tea experience to Thai consumers. With our deep understanding of the local market and Tealive’s innovative product offerings, we believe this partnership will redefine how tea is enjoyed in Thailand.”
Loo further highlighted Tealive’s strategic scalability as a key driver of its expansion. “Our priority is to adapt and grow efficiently by collaborating closely with our local partner, ensuring that Tealive resonates with Thai consumers while maintaining our commitment to quality and innovation.”
With over 950 outlets across Southeast Asia, Mauritius, Canada, and soon the Middle East and India, Tealive is poised to establish a strong foothold in Thailand. The country’s vibrant tea market, currently dominated by local players, presents an exciting opportunity for Tealive to introduce modern, trend-driven beverage options tailored to evolving consumer preferences.
